The photography series "Mushrooms From the Forest" by the Japanese artist Takashi Homma has been exhibited in one of the most unique locations of the Getxophoto Festival: the old petrol station in Algorta. In dialogue with this significant space, the installation that the curatorial team has made with 28 of the photographs is highly original and has aroused great interest in both the public and the media. In fact, it has had great repercussions in the press, for example, Basque television came to do a report for the news, the most popular tv space in the Basque context.

The installation consists of 4 large photos placed on the main walls of the petrol station and another 24 smaller photos "hidden" in the undergrowth of this space in ruins. What characterises the Getxophoto International Image Festival is precisely the use of public space and the way in which the works are made to interact with the context that hosts them. Takashi Homma's series proposes to contemplate mushrooms as possible allies for life among the ruins of capitalism, both in the short and long term.
