NAMI Airando - Japanese Festival on Slodova Island

NAMI Airando - Japanese Festival on Slodova Island is an annual meeting of people from Wrocław who want to enjoy japanese traditions. It was special this year, as it has returned after a two-year hiatus caused by the covida epidemic, and during the turbulent times related to the war in Ukraine. The main goal was to reactivate this event created by people for people and to integrate the large Ukrainian community which, fleeing the war, found a home in Wrocław. The number of participants in the event exceeded our expectations, about 1,000 people visited the various stands and watched the stage performances during the five hours of the Festival. To our joy, a large part of the participants were Ukrainians. We prepared the program of the event and leaflets in Ukrainian for them, and an translator was waiting at the information stand.
There were a lot attractions on- and off-stage, the vast majority of them aroused great interest. The fun of earning and spending the special festival currency "Namiyen" made the participants actively participate in all available attractions. We hope that next year we will be able to bring joy to many people with our Festival again.
