Drawing Workshop: Talent Blossom

Online courses show solid connections and new possibilities

Aarhus 2017 (Denmark) led to an ongoing exchange in Otsuki, Kochi with The Animation Workshop (TAW), a national educational institution in Viborg near Aarhus. 'Talent Blossom' is a drawing workshop launched in 2019 as a collaboration between 'Animanoiroha' and The Drawing Academy (TDA) within TAW. This year they have two online programs, a 3-Day program composed of weekly lessons over three weeks, and a 1-Day program. A total of 15 people aged from 14 to 70 years old participated from other prefectures to learn the basics of drawing through the course. In August, a demonstration course was held by connecting three locations in Otuski town with Denmark to facilitate the course. With the cooperation of Otsuki Town Hall, a satellite venue with Wi-Fi access was set up and the lectures were covered extensively in the local press. This was a great opportunity to show the local community how the region and the world are connected, and it is hoped that this program will continue to be a community-wide initiative.
