Anime & Gaming Festival 2021
A reunion after two years and a local frenzy!
The Anime & Gaming Festival was held at Plovdiv 2019 and was a great success. After the postponement caused by Covid-19, the second festival was moved to an outdoor venue and was held over two days with more than 4,000 attendees. From Japan, Ms Mayano Onodera gave a remote lecture on senga and kirie (paper cutting), and a talk by the cosplay performance unit MioMayo was broadcast in Bulgarian with subtitles. The talk touched on their memories of the visit to Plovdiv and entertained the local audience who were looking forward to the festival. The Manga and Comic Book library and the Retro Game Corner were very popular. There was also an ikebana workshop by the Plovdiv-based ikebana group Miracle Ikebana, a kimono dressing lecture, and J-pop and K-pop dance performances. All the programs were a great success. As one of the legacy projects from Plovdiv 2019, they are now preparing for 2022!

Youth Program
The main stage of our event was on a beautiful place - at Plovdiv's main square, with a backdrop of one of Plovdiv's seven hills - Bunardzhik with the monument of Alyosha.

The talanted collegues from the Miracle ikebana club made a demonstration and workshops on the event and were a big hit with the audience.

The lecture on Kiri-e and Senga given by Onodera Mayano - sensei. The lecture was streamed with a live connection from Tokyo. The visitors anjoyed it and stayed till the end of the lecture even in the sun.

In the first day of the event we had a dance show with Bulgarian groups dancing on J-pop songs. We had a lot of groups and it was a great show.

The lecture by the MioMayo Cosplay duo. The cosplayers were very worried to speak live so we pre-recorded the lecture. That wasn't a bad thing, because we managed to make subtitles, so people that don't understand English enjoyed the lecture as well
