Ryoichi Kurokawa’s solo exhibition: unfold

unfold was Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa’s first UK solo show, exhibited at FACT, Foundation for Art & Creative Technology, 11 March 2016 – 15 June 2016. The exhibition offered a platform for scientists and astrophysicists to open up their research to the public through a new audiovisual commission and exhibition. unfold enabled audiences members to ‘feel the universe’ through Kurokawa’s unique and sensory artwork. Alongside the exhibition there was a dedicated Public Programme, and artworks were also shown at Sound City music festival to an audience of 21,000. The exhibition gained substantial regional, national and international press including articles in The Guardian and Art Review Asia. unfold will tour to Jikji Kestival, Korea; Ars Electronica, Austria; and Scopitone Festival, France.
