The Princessehof National Museum of Ceramics in Leeuwarden tells stories about ceramics from Asia and Europe to art and culture lovers. The museum holds wide range of collections from old to contemporary, Asian to European. It also showcase some Japanese ceramics purchased by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) for export to Europe in 17th century. From 1650, Arita porcelain was exported through the VOC and was enjoyed throughout much of Europe.2016 marks the anniversary of the 400-year history of Arita porcelain.
