Higashikawa international Photo Festival announced prize winners of this year’s festival. Nomura Sakiko is awarded New Photographer Award. Known as a photo town in central Hokkaido region, Higashikawa city established the Higashikawa Awards in 1985 declaring the “Town of Photography,”and started the annual summer festival of photography with the idea of contributing to and fostering photographic culture, including photo competition for young generation. They also preserve and manage the works from our project “European Eyes on Japan / Japan Today.”
