”Potatoes go Wild” Linking Malta and Leeuwarden

potatoes

“Potatoes Go Wild” is a unique project between Malta and Leeuwarden, focusing on the exchange of language, poetry and potatoes. Leeuwarden sends potato seeds to Malta accompanied by Frisian poetry while Malta sends fully grown potatoes to Leeuwarden accompanied by Maltese poetry. This exchange builds on the strong agricultural ties between Malta and Leeuwarden, and bring new point of view about foods in our daily lives, nature and also languages. This project is originally made by Potatoes Go Wild, a Leeuwarden-based NGO run by local potato farmers. It is a part of Leeuwarden 2018’s City & Countryside theme projects.
