This year, the exhibition of “European Eyes on Japan/ Japan Today vol.11/” is to be held in Shibata city, Nigata. They will show the works of Andrew Phelps, Austrian photographer. He visited Nigata to take photography as part of this project in 2009. Focusing on the gap between the exotic and the mundane, the old and the new, something Japanese and not. He says the theme of photography is “NOT NIGATA.” (Expected date of exhibition: October and November 2016)
