Modern Noh “Chinkon: The Repose of Souls” has just ended its performance in Wroclaw with great success. Built around the experience of natural and man-made disasters, the play deals with the Holocaust at Auschwitz and the earthquake 3.11 in Tohoku, Japan. Written by Jadwiga Rodowicz-Czechowska, who gained PhD with a thesis on Noh acting, and worked as the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Japan, this production was presented together with Kiyotsune by Tessenkai Theatre. Both plays describe those who have to cope with the loss of their loved ones and enormous material losses.
