European Capital of Culture Aarhus2017 has presented the official programmes on 12 Oct. When introducing the main programmes, Japan-related one “101 Friendship Park” was focused because of a living memorial to the 150 years of friendship between Denmark and Japan. By planting 101 Japanese tree species, the venue will be not only a place for finding peace, but also a gift to future generations, to inspire a sense of community, cooperation and mutual understanding. It is also expected that many creative participants from Japan are involved in Aarhus’s other projects related to animation, contemporary art or traditional culture!
