A Happy New Year 2016!

2016年 年賀状

We wish you the very best in this new year. Last year, Mons and Pilsen had many successful programs with artists from more than 100 countries. Given the differences in national conditions and environments, it was of deep significance for us to turn attention to cultural diversity and indicate the possibilities for global solidarity through culture. This year, we support various projects in Worclaw and San Sebastian, also in the past and forthcoming ECoCs to help their continuation and preparation. Our motto is “World peace cannot be safeguarded without the making of creative efforts proportionate to the dangers which threaten it.” Culture and the arts may be powerless, but they must never be helpless. They bring tremendous hope if it touches our soul. We will keep to act, even if only in small ways, steadily on one thing at a time.
