Photography Exhibition
"European Eyes on Japan 5/Japan Today"

Yamagata

The fifth exhibition in the European Eyes on Japan photography project. It is our hope that the work of the three European photographers who photographed Yamagata and Oita prefectures last year will prove an opportunity for the people of Yamagata prefecture to look anew at what has been too familiar for them to appreciate in the land of Yamagata prefecture, in their daily lives there and in themselves. The exhibition hall will host talks by the two Yamagata prefecture photographers at the exhibiting gallery. Their discussion of the photographs should help visitors feel closer to them and further deeper discussions.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the photographers will also be visiting high schools in the prefecture in a school visit program of lectures and exchanges. These children being the future of Japan, we will be happy if the activities and work of the photographers can help them closer to their hopes and dreams.
