My Precious Memory
Chihiro YOKOYAMA
This project told me a lot of important things. To start with, through I had make friend with many foreigners I could broaden my horizons for the world. Above all, I was realized "The beauty of Japan." We told about not only the heritage but also custom and culture about Japan, because most of attendance didn't know about Japan. It doesn't mean that they were not interested in Japanese culture and customs. In Austria, Japan is famous for technologies and animations. But a few traditional side of Japan were known. So, I feel strange.

A lot of people were charmed with Japanese culture which I hadn't conscious -for example Japanese (especially Syuji which is how to write Japanese by using Sumi and Fude) , Kimonos, manners and so on.

There is a saying which was gripped my heart. When I told my host sister "Some of Japanese hanker color of hairs and eyes like you. So there are many Japanese who dye their hair gold, brown, and wearing color contact lenses." Then, she said "Stupid! I think your hair and eyes are so beautiful."

Japanese culture and customs what I told were only surface. But it was enough for me to realize that how wonderful Japanese things are! And my host sister's words taught me, "Beauty and Pride of Japan". And it's wonderful that we have very different culture each other in this world.

One more, I learned that English is merely a means for communication. Surely, English is very useful language because English enable communication wits a lot of other country's people. But I think more important thing is to understand my country, foreign country and international affairs. In addition to that, we should have our own opinions.

If we don't know about our country's culture, the things we can tell about ourselves become less.

I'll never forget my great experiences of Graz. I'd like to get more knowledge and interest in a lot of things and the world as a member of Japanese. Then I'm going to grow up myself.

Thank you very much.
