Juxtaposed elements from East and West, from across different time periods, all mixed in together.
Combining polar opposites in pursuit of the difference between the original and the universal, the genre-defying op. eklekt duo out of Kyoto toured the cities and towns of Denmark like a desert caravan as part of the Images of Asia project. Their performances rich in humor and irony drew much attention with their visuals of rare novelty and insistent questioning of the concepts of tradition and internationalization.

op. eklekt　 A performance duo formed in 1991 by dance artist and mime Nobuo KANETANI and artist Mutsumi OKU, op. eklekt takes eclectic routes to the formation of expression. In addition to performances in Japan, op. eklekt also actively participates in arts festivals in Europe.
