"Oita Today"

With the arrival in Oita prefecture of the European
Eyes on Japan 5/Japan Today photography project, photographers
resident in Oita prefecture took up in sympathy the theme of that
project with the formation of the Oita Today Oita Resident Photographer
Exhibition Executive Committee. One of its participants, Mr. Yasunori
Takeuchi, also participated as an observer in the selection committee
for the European Eyes on Japan 5 exhibition held in Gdansk, Poland
in January 2003. Running simultaneously with the "European
Eyes on Japan 5" photography exhibition at OASIS Hiroba
21, this exhibition of their photographers shows how they look
anew at the daily life of their home of Oita.
Together, these exhibitions offer views of contemporary Oita from
"the inside" and from "the outside" and provide
the people of Oita prefecture with the opportunity to discover
fresh value in their daily lives.
