Photography Exhibition
"European Eyes on Japan 5/Japan Today"

Oita

The exhibit covers the fifth round of the EU-Japan Fest Japan Committee photography project European Eyes on Japan. We hope that the images of contemporary Oita captured by these three European photographers will provide an opportunity for the people of Oita prefecture to rediscover aspects of Oita and to look afresh at their daily lives. Running together with this exhibition is another, titled Oita Today, of works by photographers resident in Oita who look at the prefecture "from the inside". Events accompanying the exhibition include talks at the gallery by the photographers showing their work, and exhibition tours and photography workshops held jointly with the Oita Today exhibition. We hope participants in these events will gain a deeper interest in and understanding of the project and the works shown.
