Based in Japan, the Mansuke KOJIMAYA Theater works to promote the pantomime form around Asia. Their Denmark performances explored the characteristic stressfulness of Japanese society, evoking human sorrow and warmth in a wrapping of exquisite smiles. Danish audiences came to regard Kojimaya as "the Japanese Charlie Chaplin". Their performance venues were filled with the joyous shouts of children and the laughter of adults welcoming their cynical, yet warm humor.

KOJIMAYA
The Tokyo-based Mansuke KOJIMAYA Theater vigorously performs in Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and other Asian countries as well as around Japan. Their protagonist is a perfectly doltish company drone in uniform business suit and horn-rimmed glasses. The group sketches the sudden assaults of the absurd and irrational in everyday life with humor and pathos in an omnibus format with no spoken lines.
