The 11th International Genoa Poetry Festival |
For the full development of art and poetry |
| This will be the 11th International Genoa Poetry Festival , launched in 1995 by the Italian poet Claudio Pozzani. In addition to poetry readings, performances by musicians and poets, and a symposium by poets, the festival embraces various forms of collaboration with a variety of genres in addition to poetry and other forms of literature, as in the poetry readings given in engagement with museum artworks. Through these experiments, the festival aims to explore and develop the deep possibilities of poetry. 500 authors from around the world, including Nobel laureates, have participated and many musicians have performed in past festivals, and this Genoese event has become one of the most important poetry festivals in Italy. The main theme of this year's festival is "Lived Dream". The Japanese participants will be the haiku author Ban'ya Natsuishi and the poet Takaaki Morinaka . The expectation is that encounters with poets from around the world and collaborations with a range of artists will lead to the formation of an extensive network and the full future development of art and poetry. |
| The Japanese participants in last year's festival were the poets Kiwao Nomura and Shoichiro Iwakiri. This experience led to the holding of the Euro-Japan Poetry Festival in Tokyo in December of last year, for which Kiwao Nomura and Claudio Pozzani served as Art Directors. |
