Matsuyama Kids Choir

The Matsuyama Kids Choir was formed to perform together with the Cantate Domino youth choir at this year’s International Music Festival for Youth in Yacchiku Matsuyama.

The town of Matsuyama has four schools: Matsuyama Primary School, Hatano Primary School, Onomi Primary School and Matsuyama Middle School. The Matsuyama Kids Choir was formed from applicants from all four of these schools.

The older middle school students taking the lead, all the children worked together in voice practice so that they would be able to sing superbly. All are looking forward eagerly to the join performance with the Cantate Domino youth choir on the evening of the annual Vega Festival on July 7 and hope to turn this experience towards further development of their skills.

Matsuyama Middle School Wind Orchestra

The Matsuyama Middle School Wind Orchestra is made of 34 members, 9 from the first-year cohort, 11 from the second year and 14 from the third year. They perform far and wide, not only at school events but at regional events as well.

The children combine on a daily basis to work towards good friendship, good tone and good harmony. Each year in August they present their regular concert at the Yacchiku Fureai Center, and in 2005 saw their eighth such appearance.

They are also practicing hard to please the audience with a rousing performance at the Kagoshima prefecture wind music contest in 2005 July.

We will give our best for an outstanding performance at this year’s International Music Festival for Youth in Yacchiku Matsuyama.
