"European Eyes on Japan / Japan Today vol.8"

Inside your life is the motif.

Fukushima and Saga Prefecture

Starting in 1999, this photography project consists in inviting European photographers to photograph each prefecture in Japan, on the theme of contemporary Japanese people and the way they live. The images are left down to the future generations as the archives of early part of 21st century.

We hope that these works would help us Japanese turn our eyes on something that are too close to watch, and at the same time help European people to feel and deepen understanding of the far east country Japan.

This year, as series 8, with the cooperation of Fukushima and Saga Prefecture,4 photographers shoot in the 2 prefectures. The works from this shooting will be published as a photo book next spring, and exhibited widely both in Japan and European cities after next year.
