photograohed in Belgium Imai’s photographs depict the Serres royals de Laeken, the botanical garden in Brussels, and a spacious rose cultivation facility. The stereotyped images of Belgium are nowhere to be found; rather, his work presents a hitherto unknown appeal through its depiction of commonplace scenery.

photographed in Lithuania Imai has painstakingly photographed the rich green of the capital city of Vilnius, the distinctive traditional homes of Nida and even the hometown of Jonas Mekes, the known for his film “Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania”. These photographs ranging from woodland to urban scenery are a consistent record of the distinctive vision of this photographer.
