Exhibition “New Trends of Architecture in Europe and Asia-Pacific 2004-2005”

Dynamic Architecture Project that connects Europe and Asia-Pacific!

"NEW TRENDS of ARCHITECTURE in EUROPE and ASIA-PACIFIC 2004-2005" exhibitions started in 2001 at the call of the embassies in Japan of the EU member countries. Exhibitions and symposia in Japan and each year's Cultural Capital of Europe introduce the work of outstanding young Japanese and Europeanarchitects to a broader public with the aims of sharing ideas and experiences and of deepening mutual understanding between Japan and Europe.
The first two such exhibitions (in 2001, 2002) were held in Tokyo, Porto, Rotterdam, Ghent, Salamanca, Bordeaux, Lisbon and Madrid.

Since 2004, this project expanded its activity to larger areas, from “EU-Japan” to “EU-Asia/Pacific”, learning from expanded EU that welcomed 10 new member countries. The participating architects extend to 15 countries, ranging from new EU member countries to all over Asia and Oceania.
From this 3rd exhibition on, “New Trends of Architecture” becomes biennale, and travels Cultural Capital of Europe, Japan, and other Asian cities over 2 years.
